Our team successfully completed the removal of a 26-tonne reinforced concrete wharf headstock as part of a complex marine demolition project. The works required a combination of precision wire sawing, and underwater cutting performed by qualified commercial divers to separate both the concrete and embedded steel reinforcement for safe crane removal.
The project demanded careful planning and coordination between surface crews, crane operators, and dive teams to execute the demolition sequence safely and efficiently. Precision cutting techniques ensured the headstock was released in a controlled manner, allowing the heavy lift to be completed safely while protecting the remaining wharf structure.
Working within a sensitive marine environment, comprehensive environmental controls were implemented throughout the project, including slurry containment and responsible management of demolition by-products in accordance with EPA environmental guidelines.
By integrating multiple specialist cutting methods with experienced marine personnel, the project was completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards of quality, demonstrating our capability to deliver complex heavy marine demolition works in challenging conditions.
