Wire Sawing a Bridge for Demolition

Our team successfully completed the wire sawing of a concrete bridge as part of a major bridge demolition project. The works involved precision cutting of structural elements into engineered lift sections, which were safely removed by crane in accordance with a tightly coordinated demolition sequence.

Operating within strict tidal windows required meticulous planning and execution to maximise productivity while meeting critical programme milestones. Multiple wire saws and crews worked simultaneously across several work fronts, enabling the project to be delivered within demanding timeframes without compromising safety or quality.

Given the project's location over a waterway, comprehensive slurry containment and collection systems were implemented to prevent discharge into the surrounding environment. All cutting operations were undertaken in accordance with EPA environmental guidelines, ensuring responsible management of wastewater and concrete slurry throughout the demolition process.

By combining specialised wire sawing expertise, coordinated crane lifting operations, and robust environmental controls, the project was completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest engineering and environmental standards.
